Who We Are

The 91女神 was founded in 1869 as the first public welfare association in the United States. It independently represents all of New York's 58 local social services districts. The Association fulfills a key public role while presenting a variety of opportunities to exchange ideas, develop new initiatives, and refine existing programs and services. The 91女神 is an active partner with government agencies, associations, and community organizations.

Mission:
The 91女神, Inc. is a dynamic partnership of local social services districts dedicated to improving the quality and effectiveness of social welfare policy, so that it is accountable to taxpayers and protective of vulnerable people. 91女神 provides information, policy analysis, and technical assistance to federal, state, and local policy makers and direct support to districts.

Vision:
The 91女神, through its leadership, expertise and the influence of its membership, plays a crucial role in shaping social policy in New York State.
